secure sign-in

We recognize how crucial security is to you and your family as you entrust your children into our care on Sunday mornings. With that in mind, Northstar utilizes a check-in system to ensure each child is as safe and secure as possible.

To check your child into the nursery or any of the children's classes, please visit one of the check-in kiosks located in the hallway in front of the entrance to the children's classrooms. A trained volunteer and kids ministry greeters are available to assist you if needed. 

Each time your child is in the nursery or attends class, you will follow this same procedure to check in your child. Your child will be given a room assignment and a name tag that contains a security code. You will be given tags that contain the same security code. You must show these security tags when entering and picking up your child from your classroom. Place the tag on your child’s shirt and a trained Northstar Kids volunteer will be waiting by the entrance to escort you and your child to their classroom.

Please include any important information in the “notes” section, including feeding times for infants, special instructions, allergies, etc. Please also mention any allergies to the Northstar Kids greeters. Your child will receive a sticker as will you, their guardian. We close sign-in 15 minutes after the main service begins.

Craft/Activity Time (All classes except Nursery):
Each week the children will have a craft or activity that reinforces the lesson from story time. This is a great time to engage the kids in fun activities while reinforcing the day’s lesson.

snack

The children enjoy a simple peanut-free snack each week in preschool. The 2 year old class and nursery class have plain Cheerios available. This is a great time to take a break and for kids to refuel and connect with their volunteers. If your child has food allergies, please note it when checking-in.

sign-out

Please pick up your child from their classroom. For the safety of our kids, you will need your “Guardian” sticker to enter the wing and pick-up your child.  When the service ends, proceed to your child's classroom where you can pick them up. Remember to keep your security tag. You will need that tag to pick up your child after services.

You will sign-in your child using our electronic check-in system. Our greeters will be available to help in the process.

small group connect

Our Small Group Leaders will lead the class into activities and discussions to introduce the lesson for the week.

worship

This is a time of singing, celebrating and worshipping with the kids. The kids will be led in worship by one of our exciting worship leaders. They will also be invited to participate in the offering.

large group

All the Small Groups will join together in the Large Group area. During Large Group, they will have announcements and a Large Group Lesson led by one of our engaging leaders.

The kids will divide back into Small Groups where they will be led in discussion about the lesson. They will be invited to join in activities that support the lesson
